about

Notes: An earlier instrumental mix of this track was called 'no tradebacks' and was passed back and forth via email by The Junks, the Chicago basement rock duo Mike Bolsinga and Brett Neiman. Simpleton got a hold of it, remixed it and added the original lyric -- a collage of bits, waiting on separate pages of a sketchbook to be glued together.

lyrics

I wish I knew there was a god
Then I'd been sent
power is the oldest tradition
just ask the government

Where the streets are my furniture
the rain clouds draw a bath
my compass keeps on spinning around
so much I just don't know where I'm at

The still kept busy in those waning years
with handshake bayonets
No dreamy edged ideas
broken to the street just yet

So when did you realize
Planes and buildings collide
and Ma Bell is a spy

when does the crow
turn and fly North
when does the greening seed
crack and grow forth
